Supermodel is a reality documentary based on Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model and is aired on 3+. The show pit contestants against each other in a variety of competitions to determine who will win title of the new Swiss Supermodel as well as a modelling contract with an agency in hopes of a promising career start in the modeling industry.
Former swiss Topmodel Nadja Schildknecht hosted the first Cycle which aired from November to December 2007 but did not return for the second installment of the show.[1] She was replaced by Wolfgang Joop-Muse Franziska Knuppe, who was a guest-judge on Cycle 1, for Cycle 2 which aired in late 2008.[2]Bruce Darnell, famous for being the runway coach and a judge on the first two Cycles of GNTM, also joined the show as a catwalk trainer.[3]

After an episode featuring the casting process with 100 chosen girls, the experiences of the finalists with a weekly photoshoot, and several tasks and castings are shown in one episode that ends with a double elimination (except for episode 2 where three were eliminated).
Makeovers are administered to contestants early in the season (usually after the first or second elimination in the finals).
In its looks, tasks, editing and elimination process Supermodel was much more similar to Germany's Next Topmodel rather than ANTM with having a runway walk in front of the judges, each contestant facing her verdict individually without any particular order and letting its contestants travel to more than one international destination in one cycle.
